Dr. Maryann Cusimano Love (CRS)

Dr. Maryann Cusimano Love is a tenured Associate Professor of International Relations in the Politics Department of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She is on the Core Group for the Department of State’s working group on Religion and Foreign Policy. She serves as a consultant on the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ International Justice and Peace Committee, where she advises the bishops on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy, and she serves on the Advisory Board of the Catholic Peacebuilding Network, a network of practitioners, academics, clergy, and laity from around the world in the field of Catholic peacebuilding.

Bishop Mario Dorsonville
“Celebrando La Cultura en la Familia Christiana”

Mario Eduardo Dorsonville-Rodríguez was born October 31, 1960 in Bogotá, Colombia, the only child of Leonor M. Rodríguez and the late Carlos J. Dorsonville. He attended the major seminary of the Archdiocese of Bogotá, receiving a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 1981 and a bachelor’s in sacred theology in 1985. He was ordained to the priesthood on November 23, 1985 in Bogotá. Following ordination, he served as parochial vicar of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Bogotá (1986), chaplain of the National University of Colombia, Bogotá (1987), pastor of San Jose de Calasanz Parish, Bogotá (1987-1991), and associate chaplain (1988-1991) and professor of ethics (1990-1991) at the National University of Colombia.

He received a licentiate in sacred theology from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá in 1991 and a doctorate in ministry from The Catholic University of America in 1995. From 1992-1994, he served as parochial vicar of Good Shepherd and Christ the Redeemer Parishes in Arlington, Virginia, and as a lecturer at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington. He served as a professor at the Hispanic Apostolate of Arlington from 1993-1994. He returned to Colombia to serve as chaplain and professor of ethics to the National University of Colombia and professor of pastoral counseling and catechesis at the major seminary of the Archdiocese of Bogotá from 1995-1996.

He served parochial vicar of St. Joseph Parish in Arlington (1996), Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bethesda, Maryland (1997-2004) and St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Hyattsville, Maryland (2004-2005). He has served as vice president for mission of Catholic Charities of Washington and director of the Spanish Catholic Center since 2005 and as adjunct spiritual director for St. John Paul II Seminary in Washington since 2011.

He has served as a member of the priest council of the Archdiocese of Washington since 2000 and a member of the College of Consultors of the archdiocese since 2011. He was a member of the board of directors for Carroll Publishing Company from 2000-2003. He completed an executive certificate in non-profit management course at Georgetown University in 2009 and served as a mentor for newly ordained priests from 2010-2011.

Fr. Bill Key is senior priest of the Milwaukee Archdiocese. His 41 years of active ministry includes 8 years in full time deaf ministry and regular signed masses for 20 years. He has been pastor for over 20 years in bilingual (Spanish-English) Parishes. He has served the deaf cursillo as spiritual director. He has used sign language for over 40 years.

Sr. Clare Hunter

Sister Clare Hunter, F.S.E., is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. Founded in 1973, in response to the call of Vatican II for religious communities to renew religious life, the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist live the mission to restore a sense of the sacred, especially the sacredness of human life. Before becoming the Director of the Respect Life Office for the Arlington Diocese, Sister taught high school and worked in campus ministry.

Bishop Denis Madden
“Where Do I Belong? How To Find & Form Community As Young Adults”

The Most Reverend Denis J. Madden is Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, a position he has held since 2005. Prior to that time, Bishop Madden served as Associate Secretary General of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association, whose main activities include assisting the Holy See, preparing church leadership, building social service institutions, promoting social development and fostering interfaith communication. From 1994 to 1996 Bishop Madden also served as the Director of the Pontifical Mission for Palestine office in Jerusalem. Prior to assuming these responsibilities, Msgr. Madden was one of the co-founders of the Accord Foundation, a humanitarian organization that has worked since 1988 in the West Bank and Gaza. He holds a master’s degree in psychology from Columbia University in New York and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Notre Dame. In addition, Bishop Madden is a licensed clinical psychologist in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and has written numerous journal articles and chapters in books in the field of psychology.

Fr Mario is a native of Maryland whose parents are from El Salvador. He went to St. John Neumann Residence in Yonkers New york and the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was ordained as a priest in June 2012 for the Archdiocese of Washington.

James Martin, SJ, is a Jesuit priest, editor at large at America magazine, and author of many books including the New York Times bestsellers Jesus: A Pilgrimage and The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything. A frequent commentator on religion in the media, Father Martin has appeared on all the major television and radio networks, and has also written for a variety of publications, including the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. For several years he was also the “Official Chaplain” to “The Colbert Report.”

Jay and Krisanne Murphy

Jay and Krisanne are active parishioners at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Capitol Hill where they married twelve years ago. The couple teaches communication classes for engaged couples throughout the Archdiocese of Washington. Jay has been working in the child welfare arena for over 20 years. Krisanne is a co-author of Advocating for Justice and works on hunger advocacy nationally. Jay and Krisanne have three children and reside on Capitol Hill.

Msgr. Robert Panke

Monsignor Panke, a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington, is the Rector of the Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington, DC.

He is also the Director of Clergy Formation for the Archdiocese of Washington and oversees the formation for seminarians, the continuing formation for priests, and the formation for candidates to the permanent diaconate.

Msgr. Panke also served as Director of Priest Vocations and Formation for the Archdiocese of Washington for nine years. Prior to his work in vocations, he served as Parochial Vicar at St. Peter’s in Olney, MD and was the Chaplain of the Newman Center for George Washington University. Msgr. Panke earned his Licentiate in Spiritual Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome after receiving his B.A. in Financial Management from The Catholic University of America. Monsignor Panke has served as an Archdiocesan Consultor, as President of the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors and as a member of several boards and councils including the Institute for Priestly Formation.

Mrs. Gloria Purvis

Gloria Purvis graduated from Cornell University. She worked for nearly two decades in the mortgage industry before becoming a policy director at a major financial services company. She is a Board Member for the Northwest Pregnancy Center and Maternity Home in Washington, D.C. She is the creator and host of the EWTN series, Authentically Free at Last, that deals with the modern challenges to the expression and understanding of authentic human freedom. She is also the co-host of Morning Glory which airs 7 to 8 am M -Fri on EWTN Global Catholic Radio.

Dr. Jonathan Reyes
“Culture of Encounter/Corporeal Works of Mercy”

Dr. Jonathan J. Reyes, Executive Director of the Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development for the United States Conference of catholic Bishops, was educated at the University of Michigan, where he studied European History as a Rackham Fellow. He earned a Ph.D. on European History at the University of Notre Dame, writing his dissertation on the historical vision of Christopher Dawson. In 2009, Dr. Reyes became the President/CEO of Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Denver. In 2005, Dr. Reyes helped found the Augustine Institute of Denver, a graduate program devoted to Catholic theological studies and leadership training, and served as its first President. Dr. Reyes also served as Vice President for ministry and formation for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students and also taught in the History Department at Christendom College, in Front Royal, Virginia where he served two years as Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Juan Rodriguez

Juan was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and when he was 22 years old he won a battle against cancer, and in 2007 had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus that completely altered his course in life. In 2013, he took a sabbatical from his career as a NASA engineer to travel the world for a year, and experienced life with several Christian communities. After his return, he had a desire to explore more intentional life in Christian community, and is currently living in a household with 3 other male young adults under a Rule of Life, and is also a founding member of the ChristLife Missionary Community.

Fr. Joe Sileo

Fr. Joseph Sileo has been a priest in the Archdiocese of Washington for 45 years and a pastor for 18 years. He is the former director of professional development for the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools Office and coordinator of development at the Kennedy Institute. Fr. Joe has also served as an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of America in special education and was a speaker for Inclusion at a National Convention. He has a Ph.D in school psychology.

Mrs. Susan Timoney, STD
“Where Do I Belong? How To Find and Form Community As Young Adults”

Dr. Susan Timoney is the Secretary for Pastoral Ministry and Social Concerns in the Archdiocese of Washington. The first woman appointed to this position, she oversees the offices that assist parishes in carrying out the New Evangelization. Dr. Timoney earned her doctorate in Sacred Theology at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome and is an adjunct assistant Professor at the Catholic University of America. Dr. Timoney lectures widely on issues related to Evangelization, Catholic spirituality and the lay vocation and mission. She and her husband live in Washington, DC.
